Obituary of Gail Olszewski

Gail Olszewski, 64, of Westvale passed away at home on Friday, November 2nd. Born in Syracuse she grew up on Whittier Ave on Tipperary Hill and was a 1972 Graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Syracuse and Central Tech Nursing School.Gail was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for many years.  She took great joy in helping others and had a long, rewarding career in nursing. Gail enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sunflowers, the music of James Taylor, eating hot fudge sundaes (especially at Abbott’s!), SU basketball, the performing arts and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  She was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Syracuse.She looked forward to visiting her favorite places including Sackets Harbor and an annual family reunion at Lourdes Camp on Skaneateles Lake. Gail was pre-deceased by her parents Richard and Virginia (Rivers) O'Meara.She is survived by her Daughter Kim (Jeff) MacDonald, Son Matthew, Husband Matthew, Brothers Dave (Marybeth) O'Meara, Mike (Patricia) O'Meara, Rick (Maureen) O'Meara & Steve O'Meara, many cherished nieces & nephews, a large & loving extended family and many close friends.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 7^th from 4-7 PM at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee St. Syracuse.  Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick’s Church 216 North Lowell Ave, Syracuse on Thursday, November 8^th at 10am.
