January 1, 2014 Alice S. Hollington, 78, a recent resident of Loretto Nursing Home passed away on New Year’s Day. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, Alice worked as a cook and bartender at Fairmount Bowling Center for fifteen years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, holiday entertaining, home improvement projects, gardening, and fishing.Alice was the daughter of the late Antoinette Malinowski. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her husband Thurlow Hollington, her sister Virginia Bielak, her brother John Malinowski and her brother Louis Malinowski. Alice is survived by her daughter Debra Barton (Andrew), her son Jeffrey Hollington (Debra), her son Kevin Hollington, her son Keith Hollington (Veronica) and her daughter Michelle Hollington. Her grandchildren: Heather, Holly, Jeffrey, Jason, Daniel, Jeremy, Christopher, Nicholas, and Colby along with several great grandchildren.A dedication mass will be held on Sunday January 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church at 3690 Armstrong Rd Syracuse NY 13209 after which her remains will be interred in the Holy Cross cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Alice Hollington’s name to Loretto Nursing Home, 750 East Brighton Ave Syracuse NY 13205.
