Obituary of Mary Julia Grabowski

Mary Julia (Kot) Grabowski, 78, of North Syracuse, NY passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019.  A lifetime resident of North Syracuse, Mary graduated from North Syracuse High School.  In her earlier years, she was employed by Key Bank and then in retail, eventually retiring from JCPenney. 

Mary was an independent and tenacious woman who looked forward to summers in Clayton, NY.  She loved the 1000 Islands and St. Lawrence River area. She recently began enjoying winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C.  In between, Mary was fond of attending events for her grandchildren and trying her luck at local casinos.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Helen (Gaca) Kot, and a brother Bill Kot, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Raymond (Melissa) and grandchildren Lucas and Olivia of East Syracuse, a daughter Michele (Richard) Dischiave and grandchildren Nicholette, Christina, Jessica, and Joseph of Central Square, a son James (Melissa) and grandchildren Amanda and Joseph of South Carolina.  A brother Frank (Shirley) Kot, sister in law, Monica Kot, an aunt, Genevieve Purchiaroni, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 14 from 11:00 to 12:30pm with Services following at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee St. Syracuse.
