How sadden I am at the passing of Mr. McCabe. This has truly brought me to tears. I so loved being one of his students. I had always wanted to be a math teacher because of him, too bad I couldn't pass geometry. But I did become a corporate trainer and in many ways would think about the way he taught, and how he loved us all. He and I had a ritual, I would bring him all the golf balls I could find, he would share his Dentyne cinnamon gum with me. I remember sending some with my brother to school when I was home sick (which was often), and in turn he would send the gum home with Joe. Easily Mr. McCabe was my favorite teacher.

We were surprised to hear of Jack’s passing, having spoken with him two days before. We moved from Syracuse many years ago but always kept in touch. Jack and I enjoyed many golf games over the years and we enjoyed a trip to the masters in’96. Our prayers are for the peace and comfort of those who loved him Jerry and Rita Gell

I am broken hearted on hearing of Jack's passing. Joe Mueller, Jack and I coached for years at JD . Our friendship just continued throughout the years. Telling the stories, laughing, and enjoying each other. I regret that i am in florida and cannot make it to Jack's funeral. I have a mass being said by my brother Father Bill Muench at Holy Family in Fairmount. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. Tom Muench
