I was so extremely saddened to learn that Mitzi had passed away. I thought she and Don were happily in Florida enjoying warm weather. In the last few years I didn't see Mitzi often, but we routinely spoke on the phone. I have wonderful memories of Mitzi when we were both a lot younger. When my husband Rod and I came to Syracuse Don and Mitzi held department parties that were a lot of fun and introduced us to colleagues. During the years of rearing children, Mitzi was an expert and we had many discussions about what to do when this or that happens. During that time too, both Mitzi and I spent long weekend days on motorcycles touring the back roads of Madison County. We would take a lunch and find a nice place to rest mid day before taking off again. We had such fun and although dumping our bikes a couple times, we never got hurt. For years we parked at Don and Mitzi's to walk to football games, so we had a chance to chat and catch up during those times. We spent lovely days, nights, and dinner on their island. Mitzi and I would explore from their dingy. I'm sure some of you reading this will relate. In summary, I want to say that Mitzy was one in a million. She was beautiful in every way and a good friend. She will be so missed. Condolences and sweet memories is what i wish for her family.
