Alina T. ( Gontarczyk) Jocz, 89, of Syracuse died Sunday, July 4th, at Upstate’s Community Hospital surrounded by family.

    She was a native of Poland and immigrated to the U.S. after WWII, where she met and married her husband of 43 years Theodore P. Jocz, who predeceased her in 1998.

    She worked at the Resnick Handbag factory in N. Syracuse for some years, but her true calling was for her family whom she was completely devoted to with love and care. She was also an avid animal lover, and always kept pets at home, especially cats and birds.

    She is predeceased by her brother, Adam (Mira) Gontarczyk of Florida. She is survived by her four children, Stanley (Jennifer) Jocz of Clay, Eva (Illias) Armatas of Vyronas Greece, Stephen (Erica) Jocz of Syracuse and Lydia (David) Ninemire of Syracuse. 10 grandchildren: Maria (Thomas), Michelle (Marino), Teresa (Alex), Ashley (Jeff), Kyle (Caighley), Alina (Michael), Zach, Luke (Kylie), Robert and Michael. She has 8 great grandchildren and many nieces

Funeral Service: Saturday 9:30 AM Sacred Heart Basilica

Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes
