Obituary of Louise V Sekula
Louise Victoria (Stachurski) Gates Sekula 94, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at Francis House on August 14, 2021 after a brief illness. Born on September 9, 1926, she died less than a month before her 95th birthday. Louise was the daughter of the late Peter and Julia Stachurski of Plainville.
Louise owned and operated the Three Sisters Restaurant in Baldwinsville in the 1940’s with her sisters Jay and Mary Stachurski. She later had long careers at General Electric and retired from Material Handling Products Co. in East Syracuse. Louise was known for her love of the kitchen and her expert baking skills, especially her pies.
Louise was married to the late Gerald W. Gates for twenty-seven years. Louise was predeceased by her second husband, Henry Sekula in 1990 and her son, Richard Gates in 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Gates Thomas, grandsons David and Michael Thomas, great-grandson Dafydd Thomas all of Camillus and sister Julie Fuller of Plainville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
