Obituary of Marianna Zurawski

    Marianna Zurawska was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world peacefully on January 26, 2022 at the age of 67 at St. Joseph's hospital, Syracuse, NY.

     She was born in Ratyniec Nowy Poland to Waclaw and Kazimiera Trzcinski on February 24, 1954. Marianna had a happy childhood on the farm alongside her four other siblings. On July 7,1974 she married the love of her life Mieczyslaw Zurawski in Kosow Lacki. Marianna and Mieczyslaw worked side by side for years on their own farm and had five children during this time.

       In 1993 she proved how strong she was when she moved to the United States to give her family a better life. Marianna was a hard worker and worked various jobs to help support her family. These jobs included, a seamstress at Learbury's Clothing, working alongside her husband at the Syracuse Acadamy of Science and most recently at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

       Marianna loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. Every Sunday after church people would gather around her kitchen table, sharing her wonderful food and company. Marianna was a member of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and loved attending on Sundays. She had a green thumb and nurtured many different houseplants and beautiful flowers. Marianna loved music and dancing and was always so full of life. She never took herself to seriously and loved a good joke or prank.

        Marianna is survived by her husband, Mieczyslaw; her five children, Marek, Agnieszka ,Monika ,Dorota ,Sylwester; 2 grandchildren, Cameron and Artemis; son in law, Patrick; future daughter in law, Kristin; and siblings, Teresa, Anna, and Wojciech.

       She was preceded in death by her parents, Waclaw and Kazimiera Trzcinski, and her brother, Marian.

 Calling hours will be held at Hollis Funeral Home in Syracuse on Wednesday, February 2 from 4 to 6 p.m.

 A funeral mass will be on Thursday, February 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

 Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
