Obituary of Augusto Collacchi
The Golden Voice of Syracuse has joined the Heavenly Choirs. Augusto Collacchi of Jamesville, passed away peacefully at his home on March 24, 2022.
Augusto was born in Segni, Italy and immigrated to America in 1950, for a better life. He met his beloved wife, Norma DeSantis and wed in 1951. A self-made and taught man, he was best known for his beautiful tenor voice and was heard at many venues and celebrations throughout the Region. Another natural gift was his Artistic ability which still can be admired at restaurants and residences. He had owned an Italian Restaurant in Mattydale called La Fontanella where he would entertain while his wife and family prepared homemade Italian dishes. They were blessed with a wonderful loving family.
Augusto is predeceased by his devoted wife, Norma (DeSantis) of 69 years and a son, Dino Collacchi. Surviving to cherish their loving memories are: Fidelio Collacchi , Annette (Robert) Boulware and Cosette (Tom) Gallauresi. They were also blessed with 9 wonderful grand-children and their spouses as well as 7 beautiful great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Vincenza (Robert) Powlick, a brother Mario Collacchi as well as cousins and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Church Mass will be held on Monday, April 4th, 10:00AM at Our Lady of Hope followed by the Burial at Assumption Cemetery.
