Hi Lanny,
I attended the memorial service today, but never got a chance to talk with you and your sons. For some reason I thought it was going to be more like "calling hours". You were already speaking when I arrived and I found a place to sit.
Listening to all the tributes to her was inspiring. I never realized how much she accomplished and inspired others.
I still laugh about the first time at Chestnut Ridge I learned that you and Rae were actually husband and wife. And the phone call in the pharmacy I got from you when my kids told you I did not wear a seat belt.
Great working together all those years and Rae was such a special person.

Lanny and Rae were my neighbors for over 20 years. Lanny and Rae were always kind and loving to me and my three daughters. It wasn’t always easy. You can imagine all the activity at my house with a big Italian family visiting frequently, my daughters having lots of friends over and of course our pets. Our dog Devin turned out to be a great watch dog and would bark at any strange person or noise in our usually quiet neighborhood. A few neighbors wished our beloved Devin would not be so conscientious about protecting us, but I remember Rae saying to me that she did not mind Devin’s barking as it made her feel safe. And that was Rae, always accepting and loving of our entire family. I will forever appreciate her love, her kindness and her full throttle involvement and willingness to sacrifice for what was really important in life. Rae made the world a better place. She will be greatly missed. Rae is a testament to a life well lived. Rest in peace our dear Rae.

Daniel, Rae's and Lanny's son and Jonathan, my son, were very close friends.
Rae was Jonathan's and Daniel's Soccer coach...an outstanding one at that.
I can still hear Rae's strong voice call out:"Jonathan Durand "followed by succinct instructions!!
Love you,Rae...thank you for all the love you generously gave to Jonathan his whole life, even while celebrating Daniel's wedding.

Lanny and family….my heart aches deeply at this news. Rae has been such a strong and vital presence in the community, and so dear to so many, that it is hard to imagine not seeing her face at future rallies and demonstrations, and especially at Plowshares. I so admired her determination to keep on being present and giving of herself throughout her health challenge. I truly believe Rae’s remarkable spirit will always be nearby. Diana

Dear Lanny, Daniel and Lucas. So sorry to hear about Rae’s passing. She was one of a kind and will be missed. She introduced me to the work world outside of nursing and she was so supportive to me during a very hard year in my life. She certainly always kept things interesting. Loved her, Keitha

Dear Lanny, I was so sorry to hear about Rae. I so admired her courage and fighting spirit! For 10 years as the SPC bookkeeper, i worked with Rae, particularly during Plowshares. She always had everything perfectly organized, of course! She would also frequently nudge me gently out of my comfort zone, as only Rae could. After retiring in 2018, I only saw the two of you once, when I dropped stuff off at the house for the Garage Sale. The world is a better place for having had Rae in it. Sending you and your family lots of love.

Our warmest condolences, Lanny. The loss of Rae makes the world a bit more beige and polyester. How lovely to have been granted an audience with her in the last couple of weeks. The image of Rae with her Raffle Hat on at Plowshares is seared into our memory, as is her beautiful, warm and maternal countenance. May she forever rest in peace, having fought the good fight, and may warm memories (and Oscar) comfort you.
