Obituary of George T Clonan

George (Goose) Thomas Clonan passed away on June 14th. Born in Utica, NY he was the son of Margaret Regetz and Robert Clonan. He graduated from New Hartford High School and retired from Niagara Mohawk where he worked as a maintenance mechanic since age eighteen.

Goose is survived by his spouse Teresa Clonan, daughters Julie Clonan, Ellyce (David) Freedman, grandson Benji, brother Michael (Stephanie) Clonan, sister Hilarie Elefante, several close cousins, nieces and nephews, his best friend Bruce (Cheryl) Tibbitts, and many friends and neighbors who were like family.

He was predeceased by his parents as well as brothers Robert, Fran and sister Cynthia.

Goose enjoyed a good steak, a good movie and a good laugh. He enjoyed boating, his camp and friends at Kayuta Lake, family cruises, all-inclusive resorts and his bright yellow Corvette. He loved reading Steven King and watching television, especially sci-fi and Star Trek.

Special thanks go to the staff of the Dementia Care Unit at Iroquois Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness. Angels truly do walk amongst us!

A private celebration will be held by the family.
