Barbara Ann Delen, a woman of unwavering faith and deep love for her family, and a passion for her profession passed away on November 21, 2023 at the age of 77 with family by her side. Her strong Catholic faith was the guiding force her life, shaping her into a compassionate and devoted individual. Born in Syracuse to the late Margaret Cotton-Healey and Harold Healey, Barbara pursued an accounting degree and embarked on a successful career, working diligently for both Eagle Comtronics, “running her own line” and Anheuser-Busch, being among a small group of woman working in the brewing tanks, where she took much pride in this distinction. She strived to do her best as a wife, mother and doting grandmother. Her legacy will live on through her family, who will remember many invaluable life lessons she imparted. Along with her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Healey. Barbara is survived by her children, Michael (Lorri) Vitch, Donnie (Denise) Vitch, and Tina Vitch; brothers, Donald ( Jo ) Healey, Douglas Healey, and Dale Healey; sister, Karen Healey; grandchildren, Travis Vitch, Roni Vitch, Destiny Vitch, Cody Vitch, Lacey Vitch, Jonathan Vitch, Audrey Bombard, and Abigail Vitch. In addition the her professional and family life, Barbara had a passion for baking and found great joy in sharing her delicious creations with her family and friends. Her kitchen was always filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked goods, and her delectable treats brought happiness to all who had the pleasure of enjoying them. She will be fondly remembered for her no bake chocolate fudge cookies and the love she infused into every recipe. Another beloved pastime of Barbara was playing bingo. Whether it was with her close friends or community events, she always brought her infectious laughter and unwavering enthusiasm to the bingo hall. Her presence added a special warmth to the gatherings, and her love for the game created cherished memories for all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Barbara’s trip to Ireland was a heartfelt quest to uncover her family lineage, tracing her roots back to the rolling hills and picturesque villages of the Emerald Isle. Armed with old family records and deep sense of curiosity, she ventured to ancestral towns and heritage centers, where she delved into genealogical archives. As she stood on the same soil her ancestors once walked, Barbara embraced a profound sense of belonging and understanding, forging a powerful link past and present. Barbara’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of faith , love and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on through the love and kindness she shared with the world. A Special thank you is sent to the compassionate medical team at St. Joseph’s hospital, Dr. Sandhu and nurses Michael and Brandi, and the many others who helped to create a peaceful journey as she made her way home to the Lord
