Obituary of David Ninemire
David A. Ninemire, 69, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2024 in Syracuse, New York. He was the husband of Lydia A. Ninemire. They shared 37 years together.
After a 5 year long battle with cancer, he is finally at peace and pain free. Throughout his cancer journey, he demonstrated a willpower that awed those around him. David lived as if cancer could not stop him. He beat the original prognosis the doctors gave of two years. His family is grateful for the extra time God allowed them to share with him.
Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of Lloyd and Arlene Ninemire. He was a graduate of Westhill High School. He worked at Camillus Cutlery for 20 years. He then pursued a career in tractor trailer driving and worked for Schneider, Boston Buffalo, and System Freight.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica and previously belonged to a Ukrainian Saturday Night Mixed bowling league and over 40s softball league. He attended Harley Rendezvous every year. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR racing, camping, painting, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a caring father, a dutiful husband, an adoring grandfather, and a man who showed respect to others without judgment.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia. His children, Kyle Ninemire, Alina (Michael) Hooper, and Luke (Kylie) Ninemire. Grandchildren, Logan, Jordan, Evelyn, and another on the way. He is survived by his brothers Larri (Mary) Ninemire of Pittsburg, PA, and Mark Ninemire of Syracuse, NY and brother in-law, Stanley (Jennifer) Jocz and Steven (Erica) Jocz and sister in-law Eva (Ilias) Armatas.
