Obituary of Norman Gordon

Please share a memory of Norman to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Norman Gerald Gordon, 92, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28th, at the Syracuse Veterans Administration Hospital. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, New York, Norman was born on the leap year date of February 29, 1932, and was the son of the late Anna (Rauff) and Samuel Gordon. Norman worked numerous jobs but eventually retired from Roth Bros. Smelting. An avid bowler, he also enjoyed golfing and dancing and will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, love for old movies, meticulous memory of everyone's birthdays, and his passion for the New York Yankees, and SU basketball and football. Norman evolved into a compassionate, kind, and loving man. His love for his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends was immeasurable. He is predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Arlene (Mintz), Ruth (Golden), and Barb (LeFevre). He is survived by his daughters, Brenda, Melanie, Dawn (Tyler), and Elise (Hawkins), as well as his sisters Randy Rosalie (Battaglia) and Lynne (Bartosh). He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah (Wiley Joyce), Siobhanne (Duhe), Suzanne (Taylor), Bryan, Alyssa (Hawkins), Sophie (Hawkins), and Christopher (Xedis), along with many great-grandchildren and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
