Obituary of Zygmunt Wychowski
Zygmunt (Ziggy) Wychowski, age 82, passed away on 4/19/2024 at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Wiesia) Wychowski. They shared 59 years together.
Born in Osmola, Poland, he was the son of Czeslaw and Jozefa. He immigrated to the United States in 1965, settling in Syracuse with his family. He worked as a tool and die maker for Chrysler/New Process Gear, was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 624, and retired in 2008.
He was a member of the Transfiguration Church and belonged to the Polish National Alliance, the Polish Home of Syracuse, and the Fayetteville Senior Center. He enjoyed fixing things around the house, traveling and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his generosity and dedication to family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, four children, Joanne (Tony), Mark (Mary), Adam (Linda), Tomek (Maura), seven grandchildren, Casey, Haley (Blake), Lauren, Sophia, Samuel, Hanna and Kaitlyn, and one great grandchild, Lachlan. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Stanislaw.
Services will be held on Friday April 26, 2024, at Transfiguration Church in Syracuse, NY, with calling hours at 9:00 a.m. and a mass at 10:00 a.m.
