Obituary of James A. Reynolds Jr.

James A. Reynolds, Jr., 68, of Phoenix, formerly of Minoa, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Crouse Hospital following a brief illness. He attended East Syracuse-Minoa High School, class of 1973. Jim was employed at Rollway Bearing for 25 years, and then got his dream job of being a truck driver for Penn Traffic. Following that, he worked for Meadowbrook and 7D in Phoenix. He was passionate about NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr., fixing cars, loved his old shows and classic sitcoms, watching lawn mower YouTube videos with his son in law Dexter and following the athletic events of his daughters and granddaughter. 

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roseann Barrella Reynolds, his daughters, Raina (Dexter) Hinman of Mexico, and Robyn Reynolds of Baldwinsville. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Abby Hinman of Mexico. Additionally, he is survived by his father, James A. Reynolds, Sr. (Donna) of Minoa, and his siblings: Scott (Rebecca) Reynolds of East Syracuse, Sally (Mark) Gilkey of Kirkville, Susie (Marty) Smith of East Syracuse, Sandy (Ray Edwards) Buss of Kirkville, Lori (Tim) O’ Leary of Kirkville, his brother-in-law Dick Buss of Minoa, and his sister-in-law, Sherrie Barrella of Oswego. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his mother and her husband: Carol and Donald Wood, and his special uncle: Clayton Aitchison.

There will be no services at Jim’s request. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday Sept 21 12-4 pm at The Phoenix Fire Hall, 457 Main St, Phoenix, NY 13135 

Jim’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the medical professionals at Crouse Hospital including the staff at 4 South and the 3rd floor ICU for their compassion and care.
