I was a waitress at The Poorhouse West for at least 6 years. When Dennis left things weren't the same, and it truly was the beginning of the end for a place which had become such a legend, even to this day. I now live in Indiana and was so very sad to find that this man who had made so many memories for us all is gone. I was very pregnant the night the keys were locked inside and Dennis and 3 other employees slid me through that front window horizontally to retrieve them....Wonderful man and great memories. I am hopeful that we will all see each other again someday.

I will always remember how Dennis kept me sane through the PoorHouse crazy nights. He made working a fun adventure! His smile was infectious, his work ethic remarkable, and his honesty compelling. I am sure that all that knew him loved him for those qualities and more. Goodbye friend.

Dennis, Fair Winds & Following Seas my friend. You walked up to me in Sears Camillus Plaza so many years ago when I was home on leave from the Navy just to say hi, and we talked and laughed together for an hour. Stories and memories from the Poorhouse West and you hiring me, what were you thinking? I will miss you, God bless, my prayers for you and your family.

Though I have not seen Dennis in 30 years, I have thought of him often. He was great to work for and to work with. Behind his quick wit, elfish smile and ready laugh he was a smart and thoughtful guy. I and the many, many others who knew Dennis were very lucky to have met such a good man. God bless you, Dennis. My sincere condolences to Patricia, Frank and Rebecca.

Frank: Dennis, you always made me feel welcome at the Adelphi Club since my first year there, whether you serving drinks behind the bar or sitting on the other side and mingling with everybody. I remember whenever I had a troublesome situation--like when I was laid-off and between jobs or between schools, you would always hear me out and you managed to make me laugh whenever I was feeling down, and whenever I walked into the place and sat down, it was never just the usual small talk--You always asked me how I was doing and how my mom and dad was doing, and you were just one of the best guys to be around at the Adelphi Club. Thank you so much for everything, and I truly hope God has a mansion for you right next door to John Whalen. So long, my friend.
Bill and Cindy: We truly enjoyed your company, Dennis, and it was a true pleasure to have known you and gotten to know you, and your sense of humor and quick wit will surely be missed by everyone.
