Marvin Lee Triggs Jr., passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in 1947 to Marvin and Regina Triggs. Marvin was one of five siblings, one brother, Dennis and three sisters, Marlene, Beverly, and Tammy.
Marvin was a devoted family man and lifelong resident of Lodi Street, where he cherished his home and community. Marvin’s kindness, resilience, and love for family—especially his wife, Mary Triggs, his daughters, Diona Brown (Jeffrey) and Lesley Wolfe (Rob) along with his grandchildren, Cassandra, Jessica, Ivan, Emilee and extensive stepfamily which defined his life.
A proud U.S. Army Veteran, he served honorably during the Vietnam War and dedicated his life to supporting veterans through his work at the VA Medical Center and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8. Despite the physical challenges he faced, he remained committed to his fellow veterans, maintaining deep friendships and attending events with them whenever possible. His love and loyalty to his comrades were evident in every aspect of his life.
His life was a powerful testament to resilience, determination, and selfless service. Known for his warmth, meticulous care of his yard, and love of cardinals, Marvin leaves behind a legacy of service and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Private Services with Honors will be held at The Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse
A celebration of life will be held in the spring to honor a man who will be deeply missed. The date of which will be announced at a later date.
