Obituary of Josephine Kiesa

March 31, 2015 With many of her beloved family at her side, Josephine died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born on February 7, 1924, Josephine was a lifetime resident of Syracuse, NY. , last residing at Camillus Ridge Terrace. She graduated from North High School and proudly served in the Marine Corp’s Women’s Reserve during WW II. She retired from GE in 1985 after 42 years. Josephine was a member of the GE Electronettes, American Legion Post 1650 and IUE-CWA Local 320. Josephine was pre-deceased by five brothers- Edward, Stanley, William, Frank and Chester and one sister Stella Pavao. She is survived by sister-in-law Adeline Keassa and many nieces and nephews. She was grateful for the support of her nieces and nephews, and their spouses and children. She enjoyed her many great and grand nieces and nephews, especially on Facebook. Both Josephine and her family are very grateful for the compassionate care she received both at Camillus Ridge Terrace and St. Joseph’s Hospital. A service with military honors will be held at a time and place to be announced. Josephine requested that in lieu of flowers any contributions made in her name be sent to an animal shelter or humane association.
