Obituary of Agnes R Korzeniewski

May 14, 2015 Agnes Ryan Korzeniewski, 91, of Tipperary Hill in Syracuse, NY passed away on Tuesday in the home that she has lived in since 1939. Surrounded by the 204 Care Team of family, nurses, and a doctor that still makes house calls. Agnes graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1942 and from Syracuse University in 1946. She taught Latin in Oswego and Onondaga Central High Schools. In 1945, she met her husband of 57 years, Stanley L. Korzeniewski, (1924-2009) at the Polish Home. They shared many years working together; Agnes was vice-president of both Stan’s business, Liverpool Heating and Buckley Road/Four Seasons Car Washes. Agnes was active in many clubs; her Tip Hill Ladies Bridge Club being one of her favorites. Agnes and Stan enjoyed hobbies and sports that revolved around their children. Among others, they were members of the Syracuse Obedience Training Club and the Finger Lakes Doberman Pincher Club. They especially loved son Jim’s Mid-state Youth Hockey Travel Team and cherished the enduring friendships of other parents along the way. In later years, they traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada. Agnes gave Stan a Hobie Cat sailboat for their 25th wedding anniversary beginning the family’s epic journey into the world of competitive and recreational sailing. Stan was one of the founding fathers of Syracuse’s Hobie Cat Fleet 204. “Mother” and Dad together raised and are survived by five children. Anne (Richard) Anderson, of SV Nati, Jean Virginia (Thomas) Arnault, of Melbourne, Fl, Thomas Stanley (Susan) Korzeniewski of Liverpool, Mary Agnes/Mimi (David) Appel of Navarino, and James L. Korzeniewski of Syracuse. A source of great pride to Agnes is her six grandchildren and 2 great-grand children. Robert (Stephanie) O’Connor and their daughter, Teagan, of Honeoye Falls, Amy O’Connor and son, Evan of Annapolis, MD.
