September 12, 2015 Edward M. Grudynski, 90 of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday with his family by his side. Eddie was born and raised in Providence, RI. He was an Army Veteran of WWII but re-enlisted twice 1946 to 1949 and 1949 to 1952 when he was honorably discharged attaining the Rank of Master Sargent. After proudly serving his country he relocated to Syracuse, where he met and married his wife, Betty, and where they raised their family. Ed was the manager of Walt's Record Shop located on Salina Street. He enjoyed going to Syracuse football games with his tailgate friends, and was a devout parishioner of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He was also a member of The Syracuse Polish Home and PLAV Post #14. Edziu was proud of his Polish heritage and proud to be an American. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty 1989. He is survived by his children, Gary Grudynski and Elizabeth Gehring, both of Syracuse; his grandchildren, Krystal and David Gehring. Eddie was the best father and friend; he will be missed by all who knew him. Calling hours: Wednesday 4 to 7PM the Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W. Genesee Street, Syracuse. Funeral Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Burial with Honors: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
