Obituary of Karen B. Rotach
Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
September 24, 2015 Karen B. (Stacy) Rotach, 68, passed away Thurs Sept 24. She had battled bile duct cancer. Born to Claude and Doris Stacy, on April 11, 1947, she was raised in Remsen, NY. Graduating with the class of 1965, she recently celebrated 50 years with Pat, Kris, Barb C., Barb S and Shirley. Karen married Michael D. Rotach Sr. on December 25, 1965. She was looking forward to celebrating their golden anniversary. She retired from Hamilton College with 32 years of custodial service due to Myasenthia Gravis. Besides Michael, she is survived by children and grandchildren, Mike Jr., Tammy, Ron and Rockie(Ron Jr and Stephanie) (Danny and Mary) (Makayla, Darian and Morgan), Jeff and Angel(Arianna and Alessondra), Brian and Shelly(Emily and Caleb), and Brad and Jen(Kyle, Ryan, Tyler and Andrew), sister, Nancy Herrick and brothers Fran and Bonnie Stacy and John and Reiko Stacy and many in-laws, relatives, and friends. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Karen's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved listening to the love and laughter during one of their many kickball or wiffle ball games in the backyard. You could find her sitting on the porch or lawn swing enjoying the sounds of nature, watching the hummingbirds, or just enjoying a beautiful day. She worked very hard to make her house a home for her family. Her family will miss so many things about her, especially the smoke detector announcing dinner was done, holiday dinners, camping, Easter baskets and birthday cakes no matter your age. And her sticky buns, 'cause no one made sticky buns like nana's sticky buns. The family would like to thank Hospice of New Hartford and Hollis Funeral Home of Syracuse for the kindness shown during this very difficult time.
