December 20, 2012 Michael Kurgan, 93, affectionately called Dziadzi (polish: grandfather) by his family, passed away Thursday with his family at his bedside. Dzia was a communicant of Sacred Heart Basilica, member of Syracuse Polish Home and a proud member of the Bakery Confectioners Union. Dziadzi was retired from Penny Curtis. He is predeceased by his wife, Genevieve 1989 and survived by his children; Cynthia (Richard) Abbott, Janet (Zenon) Hayduke, Karen(Douglas) Peck and Christopher (Colleen) Smith; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Services: Friday 9:30 AM in the Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
