, 82, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at his home on December 19, 2015. Born in Minoa, NY, Marv was the youngest of five children raised by his beloved mother, Sarah R. Bottrill. Raised in Syracuse, Marv lived for many years on Radisson Court in Pioneer Farms and often reminisced fondly about his wonderful memories of family and friends living in “the old 15th Ward”. He graduated from Central High School in 1951. After high school, Marv served in the U.S. Navy and later founded Salina Floors, Inc. which he owned and operated for many years in the Valley section of Syracuse. Marv continued to love his work and friendships in the floor covering business up to his very recent retirement from Onondaga Flooring. In 1976, Marv married Jeanne Cortese in Hawaii. Marv and Jeanne traveled extensively and shared a passion for entertaining friends and family and especially enjoyed dancing to live music at various venues. Marv is predeceased by his wife, Jeanne Cortese Bottrill and her children Michelle Murray Hall and Thomas Cortese, his mother, Sarah R. Bottrill, his brothers Willard, Warren and Raymond, his sister Evelyn and his daughter-in-law, Louella A. Bottrill (Mark). Marv loved and was very proud of his family. He is survived by his sons Mark Bottrill (Gretchen) of Charlotte, NC and Miles Bottrill of Syracuse; his grandsons Russell Bottrill and Luke Bottrill and his former wife, Dolores Bottrill. His step-children: Ann Sacks-Berg (David), Michael Cortese (Michelle), David Cortese (Anne Marie), Catherine Penizotto and Teresa Seeley (Daniel) and their families; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
