Obituary of Bob Lynch

October 10, 2009 Bob Lynch of Syracuse passed away suddenly Saturday, October 10, 2009. Bob was a communicant and usher at St. Patrick’s Church. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving aboard the USS Roosevelt. For many years, Bob was a self employed landscaper, landscaping in Auburn, Marcellus and Skaneateles areas. In his retirement years, Bob was employed for 19 years at the Wegmans Fairmount Store and most recently at the Wegmans James Street Store. Bob was a passionate sports fan, especially when it came to Notre Dame Football and he “lived and breath” New York Yankee Baseball You can say his passion for baseball started in his youth, when he was asked to play for the Cincinnati Reds Farm Team in Tampa. Bob coached many years in the NYS Hardball League. In 1974, Bob coached the Blarney Stone Women’s City League Softball Team to a Championship, his daughter, Terri, played on that team. In addition to all his sport activities, he was a very fine artist in pen, ink and watercolors. His wife, Sally, predeceased Bob. Bob is survived by his Son, Bob (Marshia) Lynch of Liverpool and daughter, Terri Lynch of Syracuse; grandchildren, Sean (Tina), Brendan (Micki), Meghan and Katie Lynch; great granddaughter, Sydney; Brother, Michael “Kenny” Lynch.
