Jack Kohanski and I played varsity basketball & football together at Vocational and spent years sharing adventures on Frazer Park. He was a super sportsman and wonderful person. He had inner strength and a warm smile, the kind of man, the kind of friend, everyone wants to know. He could always be counted on and helped many. We will miss him.

To Paula, Jeff, and all the Kohanski's I never had the pleasure of meeting,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad's passing is not only the loss of an obviously wonderful Father/Grandfather and Coach, but that of an inspirational leader, and teacher of so many throughout the community. Mr Kohanski's athletic accomplishments are only surpassed by the generosity of his time and spirit in developing the youth of the West Side. He will be sorely missed. God bless you all. You are in my thoughts, and I will remember you in my prayers.

To the Kohanski family, I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Kohanski was a good man who did a lot for the young people of Syracuse. As a young high school baseball coach 29 years ago he was a mentor and a role model to me. Mr. Kohanski knew how to get the most out of his players both on and off the field. He taught more than baseball, he showed his "kids" the right way to live. He will be missed. I am sure he is organizing some type of sporting event right now in heaven.
