At an ice hockey game at the Coliseum, a player flirted with her. Finally, she flirted back. Later they married. She became the bride of Robert L. Kremin in 1942. She held a few jobs including Easy Washer. As an Army wife in New Orleans, Claire worked for Higgins Industry on C76 sea planes. She was employed by Pass & Seymour Co. Upon Bob’s return to her & their daughter, they were active in the Tanner House Fire Department & 69th Infantry Division Assoc. They were blessed with a 2nd girl. Claire worked for the Atlas Bakery and A&P in Westvale. She loved the Kallet Genesee. They moved to Howlett Hill w/3 girls. Claire participated in St. Peter’s choir and Altar & Rosary. She was thrilled to be Godmother to Denise J. Dukat. The Kremins had 7 family members graduate from Marcellus. “The Home of the Mustangs” banner was designed by Claire presented to MCS. She visited England to meet her 1stgranddaughter. It was the spark for future trips. She joined the St. Jude Travel Club. One trip, her grandson Joe, pushed her over miles of Polish cobblestones. Her audience w/ Pope John Paul II was her religious ultimate. Her trip to Lourdes was a miracle as Nancy Doran, with broken wrist, pushed Claire’s wheel chair. She loved the sing-a-longs on the Seniors’ trips. At Polish festivals, she loved wearing her colors & dancing with children. Her 1989 stroke did not keep her from singing and tapping her cane. She never met a kielbasa sandwich she didn’t like. She was never too busy to make boiled icing, choc chip cookies or grilled cheese. She believed in God & miracles & extra chances.
