October 17, 2007 Carl Pulvirenti, 64, of Syracuse died Wednesday October 17, 2007 at Francis House. Carl was born in Buffalo, NY on September 19, 1943 to Alfio and Catherine Montoro Pulvirenti. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Buffalo, Masters Degree from Canisius College and completed his academic requirements for his Doctorate in Educational Administration at University of Ottawa. Carl began his teaching career in Buffalo and in 1974 began teaching for the East Syracuse Minoa School District from which he retired in June 2007. During his career, Carl moderated the Speech and Debate Club for ESM High School and coached ESM’s Boys and Girls Tennis and Bowling Teams, including the 1987 NYS Championship Boys Bowling Team. Through his educational career he received numerous awards from the American Legion Voice of Democracy, National Catholic Forensic League, Charter member of the Interscholastic Coaches Association and Section III sports chairman for The NYS Public High School Association. His parents and his sister, Catherine Pulvirenti, predeceased Carl. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Green - Pulvirenti and daughters, Kim of Syracuse, April of Columbus,OH and Clare Pulvirenti of Germany, an aunt, Jean Kadziolka, three uncles; Anthony, Daniel and Sebastian Montoro and many cousins.
