February 8, 2009 Robert Woythal, 65, of Jordan, passed away Sunday with his family by his side after a prolonged battle with cancer. Bob, a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, was the son of the late Alfons and Hedwig Woythal. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and was employed by Niagara Mohawk Corporation for 36 years until his retirement in 1998. Continuously active throughout his life, Bob’s passions included gardening, woodworking, renovating old houses, coaching his son’s youth basketball teams, and participating in various volunteer events at the Camillus Elks Lodge for which he was a dedicated member. Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years Karol Kepler Woythal; three children; Christine Woythal of Camillus, Jay Woythal of Incline Village, NV, and Cindy (Barry) Giansiracusa of Tahoe City, CA, and one granddaughter, Maile; brother, Thomas Woythal of Mason City, Iowa. Memorial Funeral Mass: Friday 10:30 AM in the Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus 927 Park Avenue Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stand Up 2 Cancer, 1801 W Olympic Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91199-1224; The Camillus Elks Scholarship Fund, 6117 Newport Rd., Camillus, NY, 13031; or the Jordan Volunteer Fire Department, 1 North Hamilton St, Jordan, NY 13080
