Obituary of Sophie Kurzepa Barone

Sophie Kurzepa Barone, 87, of Fairmount passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Born in Syracuse to Peter and Stella Kurzepa she grew up near Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of Holy Family Altar Rosary Society, Robinson Memorial Senior Citizens and the Town of Geddes Bowling League. She enjoyed Skat Club, bingo and traveling. Sophie waitressed for many years at the Top’O the Hill Restaurant in Camillus. Devoted to her family, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend she will be greatly missed. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years Frank, son Barry, grandson Adam, and one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her son Frank C. Barone Ph.D. of Brooklyn, and daughters Katherine and Karen of Syracuse. Sophie is also survived by eight grandchildren Holly, Sara, Kate, Amy, Anthony, Lisa, Gabe and Gina and 12 greatgrandchildren.
