April 14, 2013 John Tovern 82 passed away Sunday, April 14th.Sebastian Fl. He was born in Syracuse NY and lived in Barefoot Bay, FL since 2001. John was a communicant and head usher at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Micco, FL and was also an usher in Sacred Heart Basilica Syracuse NY. John was a self employed plumber and owned John The Plumber business for over 20 years. John was a professional boxer, and won the 1949 Golden Gloves, member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus and 50 year member Moose Club. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Tovern. John is survived by his wife Helen Murawski Tovern of Barefoot Bay FL, 2 daughters’ Michelle Brefka, Marie Anderson of Phoenix, NY; 2 sons; Mark Tovern of MA, and Harry Tovern; 6 grandchildren; Paul “PJ” Jordan, Melissa Fernandez, Derek Anderson, William, Michael John and Christopher Tovern; 3 great grandchildren, Emily Jordan, Alessandra and Joshua Fernandez; 4 stepsons; John, Donald, Thomas and Mark Del Favero; 7 step grandchildren, Jacob, Phil, Christopher, Michael, David, Mark Jr. and Tyler Del Favero and great grandson, Cade, Calling Hours: Friday 4 to 7PM Hollis Funeral Home 1105 W.
