Obituary of Fred Jones Sr.

April 11, 2017 Fred Jones Sr, passed away at peacefully at home on April 11, 2017, after a long illness. He has been widowed since 1994. He worked for Lipe Rollway Corporation for 42 years. He was a member of the St. Andrews Methodist church in Mottville NY. He is survived by 8 children. Daughter Dawn Allen, Mary Jones, Richard M Jones, John Jones, Evelyn Burke, Debra Bovay, Fred Jones Jr, Erin L Jones. He has two Remaining Sisters, Esther Wasson, and Louise Gerry of Erwin Tennessee, and 8 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews. He was born on October 11, 1932 as one of 19 children. He came to Syracuse in the early 1950's.In 1961 Married Dolores Enos, Hennessy, then later in 1971 moved to Skaneateles Falls NY and Married Augusta Green, he became widowed in 1994. He was an avid hunter and outdoors man, He taught himself how to play the Guitar, Banjo, other musical instruments. He loved to travel, and visit new places, and see his relatives a lot. He was a avid fisherman as well. He was a graduate of Cayuga County Boces and although he had to Quit high school in order to go to work on his family’s farm due to his father passing away while he was quite young, he managed to live and grow quite well. Fred, Dad, will be missed forever. Friends can meet at Hollis Funeral Home to not Mourn so much but to remember the great person that he was and, not the Cancer but his smile, his beautiful blue eyes, and the Great man that was Fred Jones Sr. .
