So sorry to hear about Vlad. I worked with him at Henninger High School for 3 1/2 years. He was the kindest man and a dear friend to me when I was alone in a city school district. I still have little gifts and cards he would give me to cheer me. Over those 3 1/2 years we had many good chats & laughs, a few drinks of fun & cheer, and he made me laugh. 17 years ago I move home to northern NY and Vlad kept in touch via email & phone with his kindness and good cheer! My heart is with you.

Dear Anna and Ludmila, I send you my deepest sympathies during this difficult time. I met Vlad through a mutual friend, and though I lived in Massachusetts and he in New York, we talked by phone almost weekly after my husband's long illness and death. He was a wise and comforting telephone friend, and a person I could always count on for interesting conversation. On my cross country move from MA to Utah, he hosted me and my two friends with an elegant buffet of cheeses and other treats. I remember his showing us a beautiful samovar from Russia. Although I did not know Vlad that well, his passing will leave a hole in my life and I will miss those conversations. Blessings to all of you who knew him well.

Val and I worked together at Fay's Drugs in Cicero NY in the 80's. He was a wonderful person and truly one of a kind. I remember how much he loved his daughter and would speak of her often. I have thought about him over the years. Special people you meet have an affect on you and you never forget them. He was one of those special people. My condolences to his family.

Ludmila and Anna,
I am so sorry to hear about Vlad. I was shocked. I just found out Friday morning. You do not know me, but I worked with Vlad at Franklin School for many, many years. We retired at the same time!
Vlad was a great guy-very kind, helpful and caring. I will always remember the time when he came into my classroom a few years after I arrived at Franklin. He caught me crying at my desk. When I told him that I didn't think I wanted to teach anymore due to being so stressed, he talked to me for awhile. He encouraged me to keep trying and NOT to give up. I took his advise and about 20 years later, I retired! I have him to thank. I would have come to the wake, but my mother-in-law passed away 2 days before Vlad. It would have been hard for me-I hope you understand. He is not suffering anymore. He is at peace now. Rest in peace Vlad. You will be missed.

Dear Anna & Ludmila,
I was saddened to learn about Vladimir yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
I'm an old friend of Vlad's from high school. He may have told you the story about his riding his motorcycle to Texas, California, Vancouver and back home through Canada during the Summer between his junior and senior years. I was with him for part of that trip: the ride back home from Saskatchewan. We got home after dark on the night before school started!
I'll never forget my old friend. I'm sorry not to have spent any time with him since those days.

I met Vlad while my son and I were on a wilderness camping trip in NY's Adirondack Mountains. Vlad and AI immediately hit it off and enjoyed hours of talking and solving the world's problems. we went on several wilderness adventures and canoe trips. I found great happiness during those trips. I had not heard from Vlad in sometime and three days ago I thought I would try and look him up. I visited his facebook page and saw he hadn't written anything in quite sometime. This morning I was shocked and saddened to see his obituary and that his passing was three days earlier when I was thinking of him. God works in mysterious ways and this was one of those ways. I will miss Vlad dearly and send my condolences to his family. God bless you Vladimir.
