Obituary of Vladimir E. Avsitidisky

Please share a memory of Vladimir to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
December 8, 2013 Vladimir Avsitidisky was born in Istanbul, Turkey, August 21, 1953 and passed on December 8, 2013. He moved with his family to Syracuse, NY when he was six years old where he spent the majority of his life. In 1971, he returned to his family roots in Russia to attend the University of Moscow and study journalism. While there, he met his first wife, Ludmila and together they had their only child, Anna (or Anya). Not long after receiving his MS in Journalism he returned with wife and child to Syracuse. Upon realizing the politics that came with a career in Journalism, the closest Vladimir came was delivering newspapers for the Post Standard. Several years later, he found his calling in life when he earned his 2nd MS in Social Work and dedicated his life as a Social Worker. Working many years for Vera House and for the Syracuse City School District he helped to better the lives of many. Vladimir will be remembered for his benevolence as well as an intellectual, a spiritualist, and a devoted follower of Joseph Campbell. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Avsitidisky, first wife Ludmila Avsitidisky (who stood by him until the end), aunt Emma Souline, cousins Alexander, Vladimir, and Youri Souline, and his aunt-in-law Mercina Vergopoulos.
