Obituary of Sylvia Garcia Reynolds
Sylvia Reynolds, 87, of Atlanta, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on October 23, 2022 after a long illness.
Sylvia was born on July 2, 1935 in Ybor City, Florida to Louis and Mary (Lounders) Garcia. She embraced being a big sister to Jean, a cousin to many, and a friend to all. Sylvia always stayed involved in her community, creating deep and lasting friendships from childhood through adulthood. Once settled in Atlanta, she quickly became a pillar in the real estate industry and was a founding member of Jenny Pruitt & Associates.
A woman of deep and devoted faith, Sylvia was an active member of several churches and bible study groups, including First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Buckhead Church, and her Closer Walk class. She absolutely loved to share her faith and was a dependable partner in prayer for many.
Sylvia – known as “Honey” to her family – dearly loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her holiday meals were celebrations of family, with her house full of several generations together enjoying her delicious, homemade feasts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Reynolds, and both her parents. She is survived by her children Vince (Nanci) Reynolds, Todd (Terrie) Reynolds, Carrie (Ernest) Wigglesworth and stepson Brad (Darcy) Reynolds; her sister, Jean Sadowski; her six grandchildren David (Maria) Reynolds, Mark (Elizabeth Auman) Reynolds, Hannah Reynolds, Carly (Ruslan) Segolavitz, Ben Wigglesworth and Joe Wigglesworth; her six great-grandchildren Jacob, Sophia, Joshua and Noah Reynolds, and Norah and Joseph Auman-Reynolds; her niece Jill Voss; her nephew Ryan Sadowski; and her many cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
