To The Children of Joyce DePalma,
I was a secretary at Central Tech while your Mom taught Culinary Arts. I recall her talking about you and how proud she was of her children.
Joyce taught all of her students with care and some needed much care. She was an exceptional teacher! She was hardworking, ethical, and most of all had an innate quality of humanity.
I was able to enjoy many samples of her cooking and what a treat it was. It was a joy to know her. I am sorry for your loss but she surly is smiling with pride for each of you.

Oh my goodness, I'm in shock. I'm so, so sorry. Joyce, Katie and I would go dancing at Shilouettes On the Shade, a bar on Rte 57. We'd dance til 2am, Tuesday nights. return to our seats and find it covered with glasses of whisky sours.
At our faculty parties, with Joe Danishefsky, would enjoy the Bailey and Almaretto beverages, until Joyce would lose a contact lens - not knowing where. She, bare footed, in the snow, with Tom Dickensen would go looking.
I loved Joyce. She had her students prepare and serve at our wedding, April 8, 1989.
Precious, precious, precious lady.

For all the words that sometimes went unspoken. I need to tell you how much I LOVE YOU and cherish every moment we had together. You will always be my HERO because so much of me is made from what I learned from YOU.
I miss you so much already. I can't stop thinking about your beautiful face and smile. You are truly a class act. I know you are not in pain and don't have any burdens anymore and that makes me feel a little better.
I can see you dancing to an Elvis song with all of your long lost family and friends. You have a great time Mom you deserve it. We will be together again someday. Until then I will cherish our memories and try to keep all the family traditions alive that you taught me. Like all the recipes and everything you showed me in the kitchen. From Ham and eggs on Easter to Lasgna on New Years day. And let's not forget get about that Ham gravy on Christmas! Lol.
I will always be your baby boy. I love you Momma and I miss you dearly.
